Big Green Egg ready for winter cookingWinter may be here – but that doesn’t mean you have to stay inside. With the Big Green Egg, you can take advantage of outdoor cooking all year. Try out these winter Big Green Egg recipes and cooking tips from The Buxton Complex.

Benefits of Cooking on Your Big Green Egg

The Big Green Egg is a popular outdoor ceramic cooker that you can use to grill, bake, and roast your favorite foods. Even when temperatures drop below freezing, the outside temperature doesn’t affect the Big Green Egg’s performance. The efficiency of this ceramic cooker means heat and moisture won’t escape while you’re grilling – simply keep the dome lid closed. Big Green Eggs are made with patented technology that prevents the ceramic shell from cracking in cold weather.

Follow these tips for successful winter grilling:

  • Allow 10-15 minutes for your Big Green Egg to warm up.
  • Once you are done using the Big Green Egg, allow it to cool completely before closing all the vents.
  • Keep your Big Green Egg covered when not in use to protect it from the elements.
